Air separation process
The air in the dry atmosphere consists mainly of about 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen, with the remaining about 1% composed of argon, carbon dioxide, and other trace gases. When separating these gases, they can be compressed, cooled and separated by molecular weight in a "cold box" through an air separation process. After separation, these gases are compressed again for storage, transportation or further processing. Ingersoll Rand has the technology and resources to supply main air compressors (MAC), booster air compressors (BAC), nitrogen compressors (GAN), nitrogen cycle compressors (NRC) and argon compressors.
The MSG LMAC has been specifically designed to optimize the aerodynamic efficiency and play the role of the MAC. An intercooler is executed after each compression stage to remove compression heat and achieve high isothermal efficiency. MAC is the core of ASU; Its efficient and reliable work is the key to the success of the ASU project.
