Method for disassembling the commutator of Ingersoll Rand air compressor
1. Remove the Ingersoll Rand commutator
The helical compression steel ring at the front end of the Ingersoll Rand commutator is installed tightly, so it can be disassembled according to the following circumstances when there is no special worker, and sometimes it is more laborious to disassemble.
(1) Who is ready to work before demolition
According to the size of the screw compression steel ring on the commutator to be unloaded, a special set wrench is made of carbon steel plate with a thickness of about 12 mm.
Get another one. - A bigger pipe wrench. Remove the front bearing with the tensioner and remove the inner gland of the front bearing. Remove the positioning bolt with a screwdriver.
(2) Remove the screw compression steel ring
The rotor is placed on a suitable support, the handle of the special set wrench is covered with a long steel pipe, and then the screw compression steel ring is covered, and the pipe clamp is stuck on the rotor spindle.
By applying the opposite direction of the force on the pipe clamp and steel pipe, it can be removed (the special sleeve wrench should be turned in a counterclockwise direction).

(3) Remove the front-end V
Find a steel rod or copper rod with a diameter of about 10 millimeter-ring and a length of about 100 mm, put one end against the front plane of the V-shaped steel press ring, and gently tap the other end with a hand hammer.
At the same time, let the steel rod or the tail stick move the gold wrench shape diagram along the front end of the V-shaped steel sun ring flat to loosen it. Finally, remove both.
(4) Remove the reversing plate
Heat a small square on the commutator and hit the square with a small hammer to loosen the commutator. Use an electric soldering iron of more than 500 watts to melt the solder at the ears of each reversing piece, and then use wire cutters and other tools to pull out the reversing piece and the mica sheet on both sides.
(5) Remove the commutator
After the reversing sheet is extracted from the V-shaped steel press ring and V-shaped mica ring at the back end, the mica ring between the steel sleeve and the reversing sheet, the V-shaped steel press ring and V-shaped mica ring at the back end are removed successively.
Some welding machine in the back end of the V-shaped steel ring and steel sleeve is connected, the structure is not exactly the same, should pay attention to disassembly.
2. Eliminate Ingersoll Rand air compressor failure there is too much oil on the surface
(1) The appearance of Ingersoll Rand commutator is not clean and the internal collection is attached to carbon, dust, etc. For this phenomenon, you can first scrape the dirt in the tank with a small bamboo sheet, and then use a ball cloth with gasoline to wipe the tank and the entire surface of the commutator again to make it clean.
(2) If the commutator has a rough appearance and is not used for a long time, some green copper spots and small white spots will appear on the surface of the commutator, affecting the normal use of the welder.
This phenomenon can be eliminated by grinding the commutator with fine sandpaper. The specification of the sandpaper is about 200, and the width of the commutator is shown in Figure 2-22. The method of beating the commutator is suitable, and two cowhide skins are attached at both ends to press the commutator paper with sand surface.
To operate, pull the kraft paper back and forth, while constantly turning the armature until the surface of the commutator is smooth and delicate.
Finally, use the old party to blow the dust and debris that fell. This is caused by the loosening of the helical compression steel ring, accompanied by the phenomenon of mica flying out of the commutator (also called flying).
This fault can be eliminated in three steps: with the size of the required mica sheet.
